Written translation

Written translation is the interpretation of the meaning of a text written in the source language and creating its equivalent in the form of a target-language text. Kinds of written translation are specialist translation (requiring knowledge of professional vocabulary in a given subject), general translation (requiring a near-native command of a foreign language), especially in the case of such demanding texts as literary texts or subtitling.
